Add account knowledge for AI drafts
Give Forge's AI readers your brand voice, product facts, and reference pages once, so drafts start from your material instead of guesses.
The account knowledge base is a list of reference entries that Forge adds to the prompt whenever it drafts content for your account. Write down your tone, approved product facts, and key pages once, and every draft that uses AI can start from them. It improves consistency. It does not replace review, and it cannot make an unsupported claim true.
Open the knowledge base
Open Settings > Knowledge. The tab lists each entry with its Name, Kind, Active state, Source, Updated time, and Size. The page belongs to the AEO & Agentic Storefronts module, so it needs that module on your account. Adding or editing entries needs account management access.
The four kinds of entry
| Kind | Use it for | Where the text comes from |
|---|---|---|
skill | Instructions: brand voice, terms to avoid, how to word a quote request | Text you type |
guide | Reference facts: product line overview, materials, standard lead times | Text you type |
url | A public page that already says it well, such as an about page or a spec sheet page | Fetched from the HTTPS address |
asset_ref | A text, HTML, or email asset you keep in Projects | Copied from that asset |
Pick skill when you want to tell the AI how to write, and guide when you want to tell it what is true. Use url or asset_ref when the source already exists and you would rather not paste it twice.
Typed content is limited to 65,536 characters. A url entry needs a public HTTPS address with no embedded credentials, and Forge stores the page text rather than the page.
Add an entry
- Select New Entry.
- Choose the Kind. You cannot change it later.
- Enter a Name and, if helpful, a Description.
- For a
skillorguide, write the Content. For aurl, enter the URL. For anasset_ref, choose the Project Asset. - Select Save Entry.
The entry is active as soon as it is saved. Use Deactivate to take it out of drafts without deleting it, and Activate to bring it back.
Refresh Now
Fetched and copied entries do not update themselves. There is no scheduled refresh. When the page or asset changes, select Refresh Now on that row. Forge fetches the URL again, or copies the asset text again, and shows a new Fetched time under the source. A skill or guide has no Refresh Now because you edit it directly with Edit.
A URL entry is read once when you create it, so confirm the Fetched time before relying on it.
Where the knowledge is used
- Product drafts in Forge. When you select Draft with AI for an answer summary on a product, Forge adds the active entries to the prompt. Draft requests still go through your AI funding and Ingot settings, as before.
- Valkyrie prospect columns. A column that uses a knowledge profile reads that entry's content.
- Drafts written by your own assistant. Over Forge MCP, an assistant can list the entries and read their text with
forge_knowledge_listandforge_knowledge_get, then draft with its own model. See Connect an assistant to Forge MCP.
Forge puts the material in front of the model as background to consult, not as commands, and it limits the amount it sends. Skills and guides are placed first, then asset references, then URLs. If your entries are very long, the later ones may be left out of a draft, so keep the important ones short and specific.
Keep it honest
Write only what you can stand behind. A shielding rating, certification, or delivery promise in a guide can be repeated in a draft. Remove anything out of date, and deactivate rather than delete if you may want it back. Treat the knowledge base as an input to review, not a guarantee of how a draft will read.
Troubleshooting
You cannot see Settings > Knowledge. The AEO & Agentic Storefronts module may be off, or you may lack account management access. Check Settings > Modules & Plan and your role.
Refresh Now fails. The page may be non-public, blocked, redirected, or not served over HTTPS. Try the address in a private browser window. If the text is long, use a guide with the key parts.
A draft ignores an entry. Check that the entry is Active, that its Size is not very large, and that the instruction is specific.
